My rented backline adventures

Is that a Kickback Jimmy? I used to have one, pretty loud and thumpy for a little thing. Thing had so much mids you could run it with the scoop button pushed in all the time and still have plenty. Almost had to to warm it up some.

I'd hate to think that Bowzer paid for an SVT and the promoter substituted a lesser amp and pocketed the difference.

You could get your people to talk to Jon's people who can talk to the promoter's people. Then again you might wind up plain' Get a Job by yourself.

What? You don't have a contract that spells out everything you require, right down to the color of the M&Ms?

Jon doesn't pay for the backline. The promoter does. I can complain, but nobody's putting a paycheck on the line for me to get an SVT.

BTW, everyone feel free to share your own pics of supplied backline you've had, good or bad.

I don't get all the Hartke hate. I once went to an open mic jam, and the house band bass player used that same Hartke Kickback with a jazz bass. It sounded F-ing amazing! Really huge, and filled the (medium sized) room. I played through it with my Tune 6 string with some friends, and the low B was to die for. It's a great little amp! :bassist:

No Hartke hate here, bro. Like I said, I'm a friend of Larry's and I generally like Hartke stuff. But geez-o-pete, don't bring some dilapidated old combo with broken knobs!

Tru dat, GW ;) Although I had set up the REDDI right next to the amp, and when I came back after the sound crew finished setting up (hideously slow crew, too), they had the line run into the amp's DI...dopes!
