Rick, yeah, everything went super smooth today, and our hotel is right across from the college, so we were treated to some nice scenery after the gig. Which kind of answers Davids question as well :)

Even with two of them, they didn't have very much bass presence in the FOH. In fact, if you watched the screens, you wouldn't have known there was a bass player until the second half of the set. ;)

Also, I understand JJ pushing her new album, but man...her writing hasn't really flourished since her 'heyday'. Still fun, but I'm glad we had 5$ discount Fair tickets.

Sigh! Sounds like she is phoning it in with the new album.

I hate massive outdoor shows where you can't get near the stage and can only watch on screens. The used to put on some nice outdoor shows near by with a lot of separate stages for smaller crowds. Then they build this mega staging area with one big stage and satellite screens to accommodate huge crowds. Now it's more of a zoo. People go there to socialize more than to listen to the music. It kills the fun of getting up close and watching the band perform.

The stage at the fair didn't have screens for us, but it was a zoo nonetheless ;) However, it seemed like the crowd was into it, and we had a huge crowd that was with us from the opening. Maybe it was the lack of screens, though I have to admit that I don't think the screens work against us so much when we have them.

Screens on each side of the stage aren't bad at all. It's nice when the crowd is there to listen to the band.

It's the ones that are intended for people that can't see the stage because it's a block away that don't make a lot of sense to me. Why would anyone want to go to a show that you have to watch it on a screen. People show up at the event to say that they were there and to party, not so much for the music.
