Welp, Senior Beef Day has come and gone but the rig they gave me was pretty darn good:
04 SVT-CL with a 99 810en, mic'ed with a Beyer M88, which is a primo bass cab mic. Went small for this trip since it was only a 70 minute set in the middle of the day and we only backed up the show and didn't do anything by ourselves. So I left the REDDI at home and just went VTD. Now that I've been using it a month or so, it's good and tweaked now...got clean, moderately dirty, and near-fuzz programmed into it. Miss that tube DI sound but I'd like to think I still sounded good

Night Ranger's Jack Blades is using the same amp for their show...probably finishing up about now. Wish I could have stayed but we have a 4:30 am lobby call, and I'd be up all night if I had stayed.
The pressure to perform was on today since there were two bass players in the audience. One was Gary Lewis And The Playboys' bassist Dominick with the last name I can't spell. The other was our own Joe Edo! Met him and his 4 year old son at soundcheck and had a nice little conversation with them. Probably the easiest gig I've had in years. No rehearsing, just a brief soundcheck, then 75 minutes and we were gone. Every gig should be like that.
