I'm sure the performing helps keep them going.

I was sad to hear that Paul Revere passed a short while ago. The Raiders put on a good show and new how to make the crowd happy. They were also pretty versatile, not only doing their own songs buy a lot of other popular numbers. They did them well and kept the energy up.

Me too, David. Didn't know Paul, but met him briefly when we stayed at the same hotel in upstate NY. He was playing the same gig we played the night before, and I was leaving the convenience store across the street as he was walking over. We exchanged "Hi how you doin's," and it didn't dawn on me that it was Paul until about 10 minutes later. Seemed like a nice guy, though.

We did the stadium once, we used to always play the amphitheater, but now we play the theater inside the park instead. We didn't like it as much as first, but now that we're used to it, we like it much better than sweltering outside all day!

Not quite as timely as my usual posts, nor quite as cool as two girls wrestling in chocolate, but here's a shot of the rigs from a gig a week and a half ago in Jacksonville with Bowzer, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, and Herman's Hermits with Peter Noone. The lighting was a tad yellow at the time:

That's my Heritage SVT and REDDI and the Eden rig is a rental. It's a WT800 into two D410XLT's. Woody Lingle from the Union Gap was using it and the Dean 5-string. He's more of a jazz guy ;) Rich Spina actually plays keyboards and does mostly keyboard bass with the Hermits, but plays a couple songs on electric bass, and he used my Jay Turser violin bass. I offered to let him use my Realistic, but he prefers the Turser. He ran both the keyboard bass and electric through my HSVT, and swapped out with an AB pedal.

This was the second gig of three that we did with them. The first gig in Sarasota, I brought the HSVT, but our drummer had an SVT-VR and 810e waiting for me, so I just used it. Unfortunately, it was one of those dark years cabs, but I figured it's already there, might as well use it. For this show, he didn't have the VR rig, but was able to get it for the next and final gig in Clearwater. But Rich liked my rig so much better that he asked me to bring it to Clearwater. Not surprised. Wasn't able to get a pic of the VR rig, but you all know what they look like anyway.

Before these multi-act shows, we did one with Bowzer and Johnny Contardo, one of the former lead singers of Sha Na Na. And since a Bowzer gig always means "very low stage volume," I brought this one out for the first time in months, and if Rich hadn't wanted an SVT, I'd have brought it to all of them:
