My Rig

I'm purchasing a proper bass rig big enough for concert and need your opinion on which one

No.1. Mesa Boogie M9 Carbine amp head with a 8x10 Powerhouse Cab x2 with a Trace Elliot AH1000-12 Amp head connected to a Mesa Boogie 4x10 powerhouse cab and a Trace Elliot 1048H cab

No.2 Trace Elliot AH1000-12 connected to 1084H x 2 With A Trace Elliot AH1000-12 connected to two 1048H cab

money is no factor

You are 14, you don't need anything you can't get around yourself.

Most people play gigs with a 4x10, and have no problems being heard. As long as you have at least 350 watts solid state, you should be alright.

P.S. Money is an object if you aren't paying for it.

Lemme get this straight, with option one you'd have 2x810s AND 2x410s AND a 1048H?

Anyway, both are pretty overkill for anything but the most huge of stadium stages. Personally I wouldn't mix the sounds from two different amp designs like that, I wouldn't imagine it'd sound very good, so I'd go for option two.

But with option two why do you want 2 8x10s and 2 4x10s? Why not 3 8x10s? To be honest your only gonna need that kinda cab behind you if your playing stadiums, arenas AND big festivals like I said before. If you really wanna get the most of your AH1000s you could go for 4 4x10s. But I'd get 1 head and 2 cabs at a time, maybe 1 head and 1 cab. Didn't realise you were 14 before, no discredit to your age but I really can't see why you'd need all that.

Trace has a nice round sound to it, but you can get a nice trebley edge to them too pretty easily.

Honestly, if you think you need max volume out of your rig get ONE 810 (or two 410s i for portability and flexibility) and spend the rest of that money on a good teacher. It would be money better spent, and do more for your future than buying an enormous wall of speakers and amps that you never get to utilize. Clubs are not going to let you bring all that stuff on stage. Best of all - listen to the advice you get here...lots of us have been doing this for a ling time and have experience to back up what we say.

You would get better advice if you could tell us what size venue in which you plan to be playing. The rigs you mentioned are overkill for anything but arenas or massive outdoor concerts.

Nothing wrong with being 14. One time long ago, I spent a whole year as a 14-year-old. I think what has thrown most of us regarding your age is we are stuck thinking "in what venue would a 14-year-old be playing that you'd need a massive rig like that?".

More info, please.

:ninja: k say hypothetically i needed to play 3000-5000 people
Then buy a B-15, and mic if for the PA.
You still haven't answered the majority of our questions:
1) Type of music being played
2) Actual venue. Indoor/outdoor? Good PA, bad PA?
3) Gear your other bandmates play
4) Why this current amp setup is not adequate:
"Ampeg SVt-810 x2,Ampeg SVT-410 x2,Ampeg SVT 450 Amp Head,Trace Elliot AH1000-12 Head Unit ,Marshall VBA 400 Head Unit"

I havea funny feeling that this is little more than another troll post...
