Props to Varunkapahi! In addition to scooping mids (i.e. 20% from center detente on my Carvin active Claro Walnut) BOOST BASS (about 20%) and BOOST TREBLE (about 20%). Also, what I have found VERY helpful is to have a foot pedal preset to to this for me as well as on my bass-I play through a Boss ME50B (a great multi=effeect)---I use the 'Bass Boost' and USE A COMPRESSOR (Marcus, Stanley and Victor do!)---there is a nice transparent compressor on the ME50B (the 'Natural' setting)----also your amp matters as well---a good power amp make a HUGE difference---also, does your speaker cab have a tweeter? It makes a difference! Hope that this was not too much info and God Bless my man.....
