My USPS Shipment hasn't moved since Jan. 4th

USPS Shipment is late

All shipping is messed up right now, between COVID, weather, and increased on line shopping. A second order is just as likely to be delayed, unless you want to pay a premium for overnight shipping.

I regularly ship using USPS Priority (usually 2-3 days), and have had several orders take about two weeks.

I've had a battle of the text messages from USPS and FedEx throughout the night and early morning. The barrage culminated in two alerts. The first, from USPS alerting me the original order is out for delivery with an expected arrival time between 6am and 10am. While the second, from FedEx, coming through minutes ago, saying a delivery of the replacement package will be arriving between 9am and 9pm. It's really a shame that so much waste of time, effort and money came about because of the insane pressure brought on the poor folks at USPS thanks to budget cuts, COVID and a massive increase in demand for their services.

I'll post up when the first package arrives at my door today. Anyone want to take bets on whether it will be USPS or FedEx?
6 to 10 AM? The only time we promised any deliver time windows like that was when we were carrying groceries for Amazon Fresh. Express mail being before noon, pushed back to 3:00 for International express as that is the time when the normal routes used to finish before starting times were pushed back in most of the country to allow for the shipping of automatically processed letters. The computer that generated the message could know that your delivery point was in the first half of a route but it couldn't know if that route was manned or not or if the deliveries were split up among multiple carriers who might take it first, or might take it last.

That was the time that was quoted when the first scan was made at my local post office. When the package was scanned as "out for delivery" the time changed to 10am-5:30pm.

In the end, USPS delivered the cables to my mailbox at a little before 2pm. Even though the delivery required a signature, the package was just left in my mailbox. About an hour later a FedEx truck came lumbering up my 1/4 mile long dirt driveway. So, even though it took over two weeks for the USPS First Class package, they were the first to get them in my hands.

I hooked up the Focal monitors a little while ago and hope they break in fairly quickly. Thank you Sweetwater, FedEx and USPS. There's never a dull moment living the the age of COVID.

My order from LMI has been “in transit” ( sitting in a warehouse) someplace for 7 days now. At least UPS seems to know where a package IS on a regular basis. Why can’t USPS handle this basic function of modern postal technology? I don’t mind if it’s late due to Covid staffing issues, but don’t advertise meaningless tracking as some kind of Service. Meh.

I'm in Michigan. Priority Mail package that should have been delivered two weeks ago made it to Detroit two days ago and is now in Texas. You can't make this s*#t up.

Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS, USPS Awaiting Item

USPS is experiencing extreme delays these days (not that they do a great job other times). I received a package yesterday that was supposed to be here 13 days a go. Also, people whom I mailed packages to are writing me complaining.

I thought we were invulnerable to the fray that's going on with USPS, but lately they're not sending the Informed Delivery reports, so I'm just getting mail blindly.
Today I actually did get the Informed Delivery report, but one of the items was not delivered, an important item for taxes.

Hopefully it will turn up tomorrow, I reported that it did not arrive. In the case that it doesn't turn up, it probably got dropped in the wrong mailbox.
Imagine you're at 72 & just down the street is a 27, well that's what it's like here, & our stuff gets delivered to the transposed address too often.

It even happens with food delivery drivers, just last night in fact. It was Applebee's, & the delivery person had the same snarky attitude that their waitresses have!
