My other one has Chromes. They take a while to settle in then they play and sound great.

Then, they are probably intended for a long scale bass.

Nice bass! I have smallish hands, so I have to stretch a little on full scale basses, but I'm used to it. The Jaguars are great basses, smart choice. I like light guage strings so I can bend them. You lose a little bottom end, but that's what the EQ knobs are for. I like round wounds, you can always dial out the zing, nice to have it on tap. A bass that fits your hands and stature will make you a better player in the long run (plus that one looks cool!).

These are great starter basses IMO. I bought one for my step daughter for Christmas. After making a few adjustments to pickups and action it played great. Nice and light and since she was moving over from guitar it felt good in her hands. I think it's great that there are good entry level basses out there to get people started that don't cost a fortune!
