my very poorly controlled psychology study

i made all my mates do this autism spectrum quiz, since we are all pathologically geeky, and now i'm curious to see some results from a broader population. It's a pretty quick quiz. Not meant to be a diagnostic without a psychologist. this isn't a very controlled tsudy of course, i'm just posting it on a few forums to see how bass players compare to my other interests.

please answer honestly, you don't need to tell me your answers but i'm curious to know the number it spits out at you.

the site is a bit dodgy, but the paper it is ripped off from looks pretty legit, it's by Simon Baron-Cohen who is a relatively well-respected autism reseacher.

incase any one is curious - i scorred 42

also kinda curious to see how tech happy bass players compare to the controls in the study.

here's one you can do anywhere.....when waiting on a line and it starts to move forward, just stay put......even though no one is going anywhere any faster they practically melt down unless everyone shuffles ahead on cue

Haha, I hate when people do that. I want to move up!

actually a little secret is hat for some reason it gives you four options but then reduced the answers to as if there had just been two options... no idea why they did that, it's in the original paper too, they describe their revised verwsion as having a "forced choice" which i assume means they only give you two options then count it as two options.

hrmmm... i have a bipolar friend who scorred 29... that's kinda close, i wonder what the co-morbidity is like on this...

Ha Ha, +1

I did this while waiting in a roller coaster line at Bush Gardens. Oh man did they get testy. Couldn't have been a distance of any greater than 2 feet either.

i will have to get my bipolar uncle to try this, and see where he pops up. im pretty sure hes borderline (or completely [weird family stuff minimizes this kind of thing]) schizophrenic though, but itd be a fun comparison

heres a funny thing i thought of reading that again, at least as far as social weirdness goes:

next time a night club or airport security person searches you, mumble ".uhhh..." just enough for them to hear, and act otherwise normal.

my friend used to do that getting frisked before shows. if you can keep a straight face its awesome (sorry tb security folks...).
