mysterious bass amp

Looks like a handmade by qualified hobbyist. I wouldn’t say “boutique”, but I can imagine first SWR amps made in Steve’s garage looked like this :)
That was my first thought. We have someone locally who builds amps. I saw one of his bass amps in a local music store yesterday. He built an amp for the lead guitarist in our band, custom made to his specifications.

There are, unfortunately, several companies listed under the name Bass Technologies. One in Maryland (associated to Mr. Horvat as above), one in Texas, one in New Jersey and one in Louisiana.

On the amp it's "Bass Technology Inc" not "Bass Technologies". They appear to have been incorporated in Kentucky in 1983 with the Principal being James L Dillon.

It honestly looks like something I would have built in college. Looks like a good feature set for the time. What does the knob at the extreme right do? I am also assuming the Bi-amp part is tweeter and woofer since there is no speaker out. But hey man, cool little amp! How does it sound?

the knob to the right is a dedicated tweeter volume. the rig sounds really great! i initially purchased it for a roland kit i had. then used it for learning bass. i hadn’t used it for sometime until last week a few buddies and myself from our worship band got together to write some original tunes. our bass player loved it for his p bass and fretless j bass. tried to take it home with him!
that’s when i figured i’d take pics and try again to find answers here.
so far, no solid leads. except a suggestion to open the hood and look around. i’ll do that and keep you all updated. thanks! louie
