Mysterious Farting

My band's former drummer was the nicest guy in the world but notorious for letting the nastiest farts out on stage. It would literally clear the dance floor in front of the stage and leave us up there gasping for clean air.

Pea Soup and Delicious is an Oxymoron ;)

What’s the difference between roast beef and pea soup?

Anybody can roast beef.

Had that issue with my Fender elite bass. The E string would fart out but not all the other strings.. checked the preamp tube, speakers, then battery in the bass.. changed it ,, still did it... changed it again with a battery from the guitar player and it was fine. Who knew.
One of the bass players at church has a Fender Elite. He was having problems with the preamp. It would cause farting out when he turned the bass up. I found the preamp different than any preamp I’ve used. Turning the EQ knobs changed the overall level. Turn the bass or midrange up, it turned the volume up a lot.

I came to the conclusion that the preamp was farting when he turned the bass up. I found room to put in a second battery, increasing the power supply to 18v.

This cleared up the farting, and the controls “behaved” far better. He loved the difference.

Higher headroom took care of the farting. The bass control was more “controlled” and useful.
