Just wondering what this may be. Head stock looks squier-esk but not entirely. Tuners don't look like fender, but then again I'm not entirely familiar with every tuner fender has made. I don't know what to look at to tell if its a squier, fender, or whatever it may be. Just kinda curious. Thanks for any help here.

No idea. It could be an instrument that a person just put together using spare parts. Where did you find it?

It looks very similar to many of the Japanese knock-offs from the '70's.
My first bass was bought out the Sears catalogue in '74.

Found it on the goodwill site. I thought it might be worth buying for cheap enough.

Yep. Dead giveaways:

- Truss rod cover
- Painted headstock
- tuners that look like that

10 to 1 it has a plywood body and ultra crap electronics. I would avoid as it will likely become a paperweight.
