Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Soundwise it’s likely not a bad thing. With the rosewood situation, vis a vis the CITES regulations, we have to come to grips with being offered different alternatives. I worked with padauk 25 years ago and by my memory it reminded me of a harder version of mahogany. If your fretboard is padauk you have nothing to worry about.

That is good to know that I don't have to worry about it. I really like it a lot already. Seems to be really well made fit and finish. Sounds and plays fantastic. Not heavy and don't have any neck dive.

None that I have found. The only other bass that I have ever had that didn't have any was a Squier Affinity PJ, that I have right now. I have less than $50 in it and it is a fantastic player. Pickups are kinda weak, though.
