Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
Soundwise it’s likely not a bad thing. With the rosewood situation, vis a vis the CITES regulations, we have to come to grips with being offered different alternatives. I worked with padauk 25 years ago and by my memory it reminded me of a harder version of mahogany. If your fretboard is padauk you have nothing to worry about.

That is good to know that I don't have to worry about it. I really like it a lot already. Seems to be really well made fit and finish. Sounds and plays fantastic. Not heavy and don't have any neck dive.
