It’s DI’d out the back to the house PA. So really, it’s used as my stage monitor.
The stages we play are pretty quiet stages. Our singers don’t like trouser flapping volume.
Still works just fine, though.

I have played through on its own in small bar gigs. Was pushing the volume, (about 7, 2 o’ clock on the master) and it’s just kept up with a loud drummer and guitarist’s 50 watt 2x12.

Solid state. The SVT setting is a tone mix that is laid out in the manual

Sounds amazing. I especially love the SVT setting (obviously). It even fits perfectly in my closet.

Sadly, I feel like amps in general are antiquated with modern gigs, but I’m gonna collect relics like this until, well, forever. Awesome recording and practice amp either way

I still have mine from 1987-88. I bought it brand new! Mine has blue on the controls and the standard Ampeg 15" not an EV. Unfortunately it has been regulated as a nightstand these days. But it still works great!

I have one that’s more or less identical that I bought used in about 1995 or so. I played it for years, then gave it to my son a few years ago. He still has it, but it doesn’t sound too good these days. It has a buzzing distortion that’s not good. I suspect it has some components significantly degraded. I’ve been intending to take it to a tech I know and see if he can clean up the audio. Mine had the original Eminence speaker in it, but it was also tired. A friend of mine gave me an old PA speaker a couple years ago that had an identical speaker in it, so it’s in the cabinet now, but it didn’t cure the buzzing distortion.

I saw a question asking if these amps sounded like the original B15. I’d say it does have some characteristics of the 60s models, probably due most to the cabinet design with a rear loaded speaker.

When mine was younger, it was the best sounding amp I owned or had ever owned.
