Id love to try one.

From memory, and only playing one instore once, the Fender ACB50 has a post power transformer DI on it.
It sounded great instore and I was keen on getting it, only that I've a V4B kept it from me

Has a neo 1x15" in combo form.
So glad we've a few nice low powered tube offerings

I haven't had any issues with it. Just use a rag of some sort when you pull out the stock tube, wiggle back and forth as you pull gently, push gently when you install the new one, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary when replacing preamp tubes.

Yep, even though it's the depth of winter, there's gigs still.
Two this weekend. Tho I was lazy and took the same rig to both, even tho they were for different bands.
B|Amp and HG410, which did the job beautifully I must say.
And due to an oversight, I took the Gibson EB4 to both.
I usually/always use my Alleva-Copollo EUT5 for the funk n soul band (Friday night). So you could probably imagine my shock at pulling out the EB4 at the sound check🙄
Anyhow, it worked out well

Yes, the V4B and Bassman 115 is superb.
Still, that Fender ACB50 tugs at my wants. So does the PF50T for that matter. Lookout if either show up at a good deal close to me 😜

I too have had a good look at the Fender ACB 50. I played one for all of 10m, but was really impressed, especially with the 'modern' channel. What stopped me was the weight. I have a self imposed 15kg max for any piece of gear.
Regarding the EB4, it just goes to show, a good player, will make most instruments, (and amps) sound right for any genre.

If you've got some good, sensitive cabinets, it can be loud enough. With its original Ampeg fliptop cab, I didn't find mine to be loud enough for anything but small gigs. But on top of my Barefaced stack, it could probably go a lot farther.

I got mine, head and cab together, for about $250 from the Bass Club Chicago. Probably the best deal I've ever gotten on an amp.

Wondering if $250.00 for head & cab is a typo, especially from a retailer not private sale.

Yes, Dawn the designer used the V4b as a guide. It’s not exact but it’s quite close.

This was in store, back in 2019 or so. He said $250 and at first I thought I'd misheard him or that he had misspoken. He said it again, and I asked him if it was broken. I'd been playing basses through it for 15 minutes, so I suspected not. He said no, and explained that most of his business is shipping basses, pedals, and lightweight amp heads, not 80 lb tube combos. Walk-in traffic is light, and I would venture to guess most people go in there to gawk at $14,000 basses. So, he'd been sitting on this amp for a while, and wanted rid of it. Priced to sell.

Of course I went to run my card, and it tripped my bank's anti-fraud protection because I was staying in Chicago for a week with my girlfriend at the time. She generously considered it an early birthday gift and spotted me the money...

It's a pretty decent amp if you want a tube amp with solid features for relatively cheap. I've divorced the head from the fliptop because I almost never use that cab anymore. Had to get a set of feet and shorter screws to go along. Though, as I said, it's really not that powerful... you don't need a lot these days, but 50w is cutting it close to the limit of what's practical to gig with.

Pro tip: if you do want to run the head by itself, carrying is an issue. I found that Gator's double bass kick pedal bag (model GP-66) fits almost perfectly.

I'm using a Gator GPA-TOTE8 bag for my PF-50T. It's a fairly well padded speaker bag. It can carry the weight easily ,(designed to carry a powered 8" or 10" speaker), and fits really well. Iv added a carry tray with 2" walls to protect the knobs on front panel, and overall stiffen the whole thing.
The PF-50T definitely needs something to transport it in, safely..

I will say I wouldn't toss it around in that kick pedal bag. It's definitely an off the shelf solution for getting it from A to B.

Can’t answer you about the 20t, but the only thing different about the V4b and 50t are the wattage and 5 way mid selection on the 50t vs 3 way on the V4b.

I really wish Fender would have built in a load box for silent playing/recording in the ACB50. The ACB50 would have been a must buy for me if it had that.
