If I can get what I want at Sweetwater, I do. I have a great salesman who I like doing business with. But they don't have the greatest selection in the world, and often not the best prices. That said, they have most things LaBella there, and that's my go to brand.

I have also ordered from the Talk bass store, and from The String Store dot com when I was searching for harder to find sets and/or the best possible prices. The former had the La Bella D-Tuna set I was looking for, which was hard to find. The latter had the best price I could find on D'Adarrio short scale half rounds, not to mention that they didn't charge me tax or shipping (which is much harder to find these days than it used to be).

Sometimes emails take a day or two, but he replies to me on facebook messenger fairly quickly

Anymore I just use Amazon. Almost always the cheapest option and free shipping with Prime. Plus I get them in 24-48 hours. No one can compete with that. I'd buy local buy no shops here carry Dunlop Super Brights.

I tried doing business with Fretnation (under their old name). 3 orders and two annoying experiences. I know they get lots of love here, but nobody is perfect.

I go through the local GC or Amazon for most things. I've done TB and direct from a few manufacturers. Unfortunately, I don't think I've got any suggestions for the specific items the OP is after.

I went to a local shop a while ago for DAddario 11's and 15's, didn't matter which, as the plain Steel strings in all their sets are the same, acoustic or electric (Code PL11 and PL15), So I was going to buy any pack and ditch the wound strings. I can't get 11's here (11' are 4 wound (EADG) and 2 plain steel (BE)), so I was looking at the packs with 9's which are 3 wound (EAD) and 3 plain steel (GBE), if I ditched the wounds and the skinny E (the 9), the next two strings were 11 (G)and 16(B), then I noticed two identical packs, one half the price of the other. SO I asked why?

"Thise are the real ones, and those are fake" he told me.

"How can you tell?"

"Look, this is nicer packet"

"So you just tell people, they are fake?'

" Yes, peopel like them, but cdon't want to pay that money"

Fair enough, at least they were honest about it. I went to the one shop that is Fender's authorised dealer (That have no range,but because they are the dealer, no one is allowed to sell my a fender from abroad) and got from them (but that was another story, it always is when I try to buy there)

For all the types of strings I buy that aren't just bass guitar strings? I'd say that it's a toss up between Juststrings, and Stringsbymail. For just bass strings? Stringsbymail, mostly. I like their selection of out-of-the-ordinary bass strings; guitar strings, too. Sad to say, it seems to me that Fretnation doesn't have as many different string choices, as it's previous incarnation did. Bassstringsonline was always my go-to choice. Now? Sadly, not so with Fretnation... :(

FretNation is real good. At times a certain string you may have to wait. DR Sunbeams were one. But the prices and customer service are great. Reverb may not be the best but sometimes you can strike a deal if you buy multiples.

Not sure why I didn't look at them. After Guitar centre messed up up order and would happily emial me, but only take replies by phone, I went here for my Area J pickups. But had them sent to an American friend when he was back home from Vietnam for a wedding. I think in the back of my head I think they didn't deliver abroad, but I never realy checked.

I just had a look, and their GHS range is a little limited, but who knows if I had asked
