Naming your bass

Did you give your bass a name? I’ve never named an instrument before but my new Eko 995 has become Betty and I don’t know why.
Sparkle (silver flake L2500)
Fa (Warwick Dolphin)
Goldie (Gold Glitter precision with flower pickguard)
Marilyn (build in progress- Jazz bass with Holly Top)
Ginger (Curly/Flame Redwood Jazz )
Tangerine Dream (Tangerine glitter Billy Bo)
Blueberries n Cream (flame maple PJ, with cream EMG's)
Double Chocolate (P)uddin (dual P dark brown Mahogany Goya)
The Raspberry (Raspberry pink J)

most get nicknames :) like pets.
Eventually some will morph into model names as by builds progress / replicate

The bass that became my number one is named Skaoi (Norwegian goddess of winter):

My goof around bass is a black Dean acoustic fretless (sorry no picture). It is named Ripple.

I don't set out to give things names, but sometimes it kinda happens all on its own.

Like my mid-90s Carvin LB70 that somehow got named "The Pillow" because of its round, deep, and comfortably "cushy" tone.

You can't just walk away from a name like that, huh?

My only bass that has a name is this one, affectionately known as "The Pig" because the sound reminds me of a snorting wild boar rooting through the ground looking for truffles or something. I know that's weird but honestly, that's the least weird thing I've seen in 2020. :cautious:

Some of my basses have names but not all of them.
