NAMM 2007 Pics!!

well, Bill Conklin hasn't done the show in a few years. we had my new Conklin in the Nordstrand Pickups booth and I saw Dave Wood, an 8 string guitarist from NYC, playing a few places. ran into quite a few Conklin players, too.

does anyone know if John Turner made the show?

Stew, Dave Wood wouldn't happen to be the guy playing guitar for that last American Idol winner would it? I saw a vid of a conklin player with him recently that had an 8 string guitar on a stand next to him.

thinking the same thing a day or so into the show. I didn't see him, but then again, I was running around a bunch.

That 10 String Sage was actually really comfortable to play:

... granted, it is about the size of me. :smug:

Oh Stew, I got the Blue Nordy home safely and popped some heavy SIT nichels on it and the bass came alive...

close, but there are some other hidden features:
Volume(pull up for Passive), Blend, Tone (pull up for Single Coil), Treble, Mid @ 400hz (pull up for 800hz), Bass=:bassist:

Forgot about the pull passive! My SC5 has the Treble next to the Tone as well. The switchable mids is a nice addition!

Super nice Nordy, Jai.

no MSN tonight, man. sorry. still too tired after NAMM. we'll catch up soon, though.

I dig that 10, Jairaj. did you check out how responsive the F# and B strings are on that bass? yow!

glad you're diggin' the Nordy, man! told you she's a honey!

Stew

J -raj, you look like a younger, and yes, more handsome version of my oncologist, Dr. Sunnil Sharma. Which is ok, I love that guy! :D

wow, thanks... It was great to see you two there at the show, hope that y'all enjoyed the show. Again, I really wished I could have talked longer to each TB'er I bumped into... Maybe next year or this summer, we'll have to organize a NAMM GTG social or something.

The F# and B were definitely very present and tight on that Sage. The 9 string Bennie was also a very comfortable ERB:

yup the Nordy is definitely 'on da money'!

Here's a pic of DdP playing the pajamas out of that vintage passive 4-string:
