A bit surprised folks aren't up on Rufus Philpot. He's sick, plays with Virgil Donati and Derek Sherinian in Planet X, extreme metal sort of almost drifting into fusion. Crazy chops, blinding speed.

Those were just a couple my girlfriend took, with my camera.
I'm waiting to get the ones from the pros of me, with Victor Wooten, Billy Sheehan, and the big group shots.
I was such a lil fanboy!
The highlight was when we all asked for each other's autographs. And the whole thing that started that, was when Geezer asked me for mine!
I almost freakin' died!
He asked me, and I laughed. He then said, "I'm serious."
I wrote the only thing that was fitting...

wow, always cool to hear when your "heroes" turn out to be nice people. that's an awesome experience, man! a very fitting quote also! i certainly wouldn't play the way i do if it weren't for geezer! always been a big fan of bls and anthrax too!
Canshaker...do you have history with Geezer or as he just that "inspiration" that made you what you are today? I gotta say, Geezer has been my all time inspiration, going back 30 years now, and more recently since I saw Filter a few years back (actually I caught 2 Filter shows last year (Anaheim & Redondo Beach)), I found that new powerful sound and stage image that keeps my own game up.

I had never met him before. We were both signing at the Hartke booth (along with JD Deservio, Frank Bello, Billy Sheehan, Eddie Kramer, Stu Hamm, and Marco Mendoza
), and they placed him first, and me second. (I swear, I almost signed a few autographs like "To 'Dave', I was the guy next to Geezer. -PB")We just got to talking, and he was so awesome. VERY down to earth, and humble.
As far as my basses, they are all custom made for me by a couple of friends that work at Tour Supply, and next to Tour Supply. They are basically P bodies, with J necks, and custom Seymour Duncan pickups, that have that warm, vintage tone, but have a more windings, to give them a hotter output. (think, a little hotter than the Steve Harris model).

The PX4 is my main bass and I love it. big fan of the Starcaster shape as well. Did anyone get to play it? I've seen photos, but no video or audio demos yet.
I played it and it felt great! The Fanos seem to have a very slim Jazz type neck and it had a broken in feel. I wish I could have heard it better because their both was near the drum area this year, but the bit where I could hear it well showed that it had a nice growl to it.
