NAMM 2013

I played it and it felt great! The Fanos seem to have a very slim Jazz type neck and it had a broken in feel. I wish I could have heard it better because their both was near the drum area this year, but the bit where I could hear it well showed that it had a nice growl to it.

Awesome! Thanks for the report. I'm guessing the neck is the same as my PX4, in which case it's like a vintage 60's J neck crossed with a Rickenbacker or Guild Starfire neck. Slim from nut to bridge, just how I like it.

The pickups on the GF4 are originally guitar pickups I believe. I'm intrigued to hear how they sound.

Just how I like it too! 1.5" nut width, and the neck doesn't fan out too much as you go up the neck.

I am surprised more bass manufacturers don't use that design.

This bass has me drooling for some audio samples! How might you describe its tonal nature?

It is the most even, resonant tone I have ever heard from the low G (the D-tuner drops 2 steps) to the high E on the C string. Fodera is currently building Anthony Jackson's next bass and will incorporate most of the features of this bass. By the way all of the design concepts in this bass are the brainchild of Anthony and Vinny Fodera. I'm very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to have this bass built for me!

Thanks wrp!

Without hearing this for myself, I keep wondering about the articulation of that lowest string.
