I'd love to see close ups of the new Mustang PJ Player series colors. The natural one looks different in every pic I've seen.
Offset series is now moving into player series. No idea if anything actually changes though.
That single cut is pretty amazing - and the wood selection on all is pretty spectacular. What a sleeper!
Full disclosure: never been a big fan of modern singlecut bass designs, so maybe they've worn me down with repetition and/or familiarity.
That said, these ESPs look sharp. The carved top probably helps.
Way too many knobs, though. Are they helping monitor the international space station? Either that or it has an on-board "the Simplifier" built into it.
The last "new" bass from Fender was the dimension bass. They had a large range of offerings from Squier to USA. They were nice instruments but we didn't buy enough of them for Fender to keep making them. It is a shame. I wish 2020 brought them back.
That was at least something actually new, not just regurgitated pieces at ever increasing price points.
Here's Jake Serek giving a walk-through of his lineup this year. In addition to the overall cool vibe of everyone at that booth and their basses, they are doing some cool things with passive electronics.

Dang, those Serek basses sure are COOL!
ESP has actually made some really amazing custom basses over the years. The esp Halibut which has mainly been limited to japan and custom orders are really nice basses. The problem is the price. They sell so much in the LTD range everyone thinks oh that’s sick and I can probably afford it. Nope. I bet that bass rivals Ritter and custom Fodera bass in price.
Yeah the ever rising prices and nothing new is a bad business recipe imo. I see more and more people buying American fender basses used because the new prices are just getting out of control for what is essentially a parts bass. And every year the bass offerings at namm seem to get fewer and fewer. It’s weird because I watched Hans Zimmer in concert and the bass guitar player played a white dimension 5 and I dug it. It sounded good, it looked good onstage. Then I looked on sweetwater and the bass was already discontinued. By the time I got to see one in person they had already given up on it.

I think the Kiesel Thanos has me most intrigued this year.
