This thing looks awesome! Multiple cab sims, parallel EFX loop, full EQ adjustment, would be interested to hear how the gain on this unit sounds.

With very few exceptions, all the photos show nice shiny finishes with an absence of hobo basses.

Where's the truss rod adjustment on that thing? It doesn't look like the headstock wood is a cover.

You don't think the people who bought those are actually going to play them, do you? Those are going right into someone's "never touched" collection.

move been GASing for a Lincoln for a while. That is gorgeous. As soon as my winning lottery ticket comes in, I’ll be sorting myself out with one of those!

ESP has actually made some really amazing custom basses over the years. The esp Halibut which has mainly been limited to japan and custom orders are really nice basses. The problem is the price. They sell so much in the LTD range everyone thinks oh that’s sick and I can probably afford it. Nope. I bet that bass rivals Ritter and custom Fodera bass in price.

Yeah the ever rising prices and nothing new is a bad business recipe imo. I see more and more people buying American fender basses used because the new prices are just getting out of control for what is essentially a parts bass. And every year the bass offerings at namm seem to get fewer and fewer. It’s weird because I watched Hans Zimmer in concert and the bass guitar player played a white dimension 5 and I dug it. It sounded good, it looked good onstage. Then I looked on sweetwater and the bass was already discontinued. By the time I got to see one in person they had already given up on it.

RE: Fender - pricing is wild, especially in the UK. In 2003 a new MIA was £800-1000, model dependant. Some are going for more than that used. I never got to try a Dimension, but I really dig the look. Nik West gets a great sound out of hers which put me back onto them. Anyway, I don’t wanna derail this awesome thread with Fender bashing...

Trussrod is at the headstock under the plate.

Tried a Dimension, pretty nice but heavy and resale value isn't that great. Rather have a Stingray HH.
The recent Fenders I've played are great, except a bit heavy, which is why I use a Sadowsky.
Regarding vintage fingerboard radius, is that just a heritage nod to Double basses? My Warwick Broadneck LX5 radius is flat as a pancake and for me, preferable.

The only improvements Fender could make on their Jazz and P basses has already been done by Sadowsky, Lull and many others. I would be happier if Fender could make lighter basses and sort out the pricing, until then, much better value to be had elsewhere imo.

Concerning Fender the only thing I wish they would've reissued this year is the HM Bass, considering they are reissuing the HM Strat.
