NAMM?

If you want to meet a bunch of your fellow TBers.

Thursday night of the 15th and Friday night of the 16th the NAMM Bass bash will be taking place at JT Schmid's Brewhouse and Eatery. And there will be a lot of bass players performing.

+1 This is a big time quality hang, and the highlight of the show, if you are a bass player, for sure.

Plus, their microbrews are pretty good! :D

Do the NAMM participants just displays their products and take sales orders, or they sell the displayed basses too?
Thanks
Robert

The larger and more established NAMM exhibitors usually have a significant dealer base that they wish to not piss off, so they don't sell their samples. The start-ups and smaller ones might sell their samples.

NAMM = National Association of Music Merchants; the organization is now called the International Music Business Association, but NAMM remains the name of the trade show.

I'm glad they kept the NAMM name. I can't see there ever beinga thread called "Who's going to IMBA this year?":D

I wish I could go. I'm going to be in a cast since I'm getting wrist surgery so I'd be just standing around watching and lusting after all the cool gear. Plus, I have no affiliation with anyone in the industry professionally, just as buddies.

:D Sometimes people who are unfamiliar with the music trade are confused by talk of "NAMM." They think of "'Nam": Pleiku and Saigon and the Mekong Delta, Charlie out there watching our every move, Oliver Stone, etc. ;)
