Nashville Bassists?

Are you on facebook, Mark? Theres an invitation-only bass community that does a lot of gtg's and gear-networking, etc... I've never made it to a gtg (always working it seems...), but there is a definite online-meets real world community there!

Is it Nashville Bass Hang? Yeah, I'm on that...really should check it more often :)

I'm always a bit surprised...big town with tons of bass players, but not very connected for whatever reason.

I live in Inglewood, East Nashville...my main band for years is Th' Legendary ShackShakers. Been together about 12 years and have toured all throughout the US, Canada and Europe, over 200 shows a year...finally, we're taking a little hiatus to get over burnout! I'm on tour as we speak with a Nashville artist named Derek Hoke. Fun stuff :)

Hoping one day some of us Nashville players could hang, maybe do a GTG, and check out each others basses, amps, etc.

We're neighbors, I live in on the east side Lockeland Springs. Derek is great, I first heard him recently at the East Nashville Christmas benefit shows. His sets with Jen Duke were among my favorites.

Late to this thread....as usual. I have met scotch when The Crazy Aces last played at the Family Wash. Have met and heard plainman play. He is no slouch. I am new to bass....(month 6). 62 yrs. young! Would really like to get together with some of you experienced guy's...and pick your brains....with regard to amps ...etc. Currently playing a MIK Squier Precision..with a pair of SD SPB-2's. And I snagged a way cool MIJ Sekova SS EB 3 off of a fellow TB'er. I just have a Kustom 20 practice amp. I'm off on Friday's and Saturday's. We all should get together.Or as many as possible. I live out in Wilson County...just south of Gallatin. Will travel!
Let's just DO IT!!!!!! :hyper:

I'm in SUmner County (White House), sort of close to Gallatin.

OK Folks....one member is checking out a potential meeting place. I was thinking of meeting on a Friday or Saturday evening. Mainly because those are my days off. Seems like some of you guy's are pro's...and may be working on Saturday's. So keep an eye on this thread...I still have to contact a few more folk's. If any of you have a suggestion for a time or a place ...shoot me an e mail or PM me. (Check my profile for my e-mail addy)

Also, Summer NAMM is coming up. Do they have a day where the General Public (me) is allowed in? Then again....I would be willing to schlep equipment to get in for a day. Fri./Sat.

Keep an eye on this thread for updates.

Chris

Couple things...I have a possibility of using a local east Nash club, but evenings wouldn't work...would have to be a noon to 6 kinda thing, or somewhere close...if anyone else has other ideas, I'm all ears!

NAMM is a bear to get into unless you are a music merchant, employee of a large music company, or an endorser, sadly
