Nashville / Seattle / Portland - Advice + Recommendations!

The Valley side is most famous for Pinot Noir, which is consided world class. The western Gorge has lots of whites, further out you get more into the classic big reds and my favorites, Italian varietals like Sangiovese, Barbera, and Nebbiolo. I'd suggest just waiting and seeing where the weather is nicest when you get into town.

Eastern Washington is where the best reds are. Yakima Valley. Our dear friends in Oregon have the pinots nailed though.
Woodinville, Washington has the largest collection of wineries in one spot than anywhere else on earth.

Yep, and Walla Walla. But a lot of Yakima Valley grapes actually end up in the Gorge these days, especially the Horse Heaven Hills ones.

There are at least three or four smaller but cool wineries near there that are worth a visit too. My favorite windsurfing spot is just below this one: Cascade Cliffs Vineyard & Winery

I love the Ivar's on Alaska Way in the heart of tourist territory. The place (even remodeled) is a long time Seattle tradition and I try to have dinner there whenever I'm in town.

And the cheapest and most relaxing entertainment in Seattle is to walk down Alaska Way to the Ferry dock, walk on to the Winslow Ferry and ride it over to Bainbridge Island. Great relaxing ride watching the waves and looking around, maybe having coffee from the galley. Upon landing, walk uphill 100 yards to the cool shopping area, after shopping stroll back to the ferry and ride the next one back to Seattle.

I think it's a lot quieter now, as most of it is finished and the viaduct (RIP) & all its traffic is now routed underground

And a large percentage of the viaduct is now gone. Some places without a trace. The waterfront is still all torn up and in progress, though. It will be great when it's done. For now, it's a bit of a mess. The good thing is the Pike Place Market is untouched.

The Powell's Books mothership in downtown Portland. (Invalid Link Removed).

The Royal Room in Columbia/Rainier Valley, Seattle. (Invalid Link Removed) I've never been there, however the music presented looks incredible.

Yard House.
It's a national chain, but it's good food in a nice atmosphere. Lots of beer too.
If you want something local, the Tap House Grill would be a solid choice.
I'm not dialed in with the boxing scene to know the best place to watch a boxing match, so I'm just recommending a couple sports bars I know of that have a nice atmosphere with lots of good food and brews.
