Wow. That is a fantastic looking bass. Part of me swears I've seen that bass before, but can't find anything on line to back that up.

Looks badass, but that neck plate seems awful new and shiny lookin for something 45 years old. Taking the BAII off would expose a block of original paint, so it should probably stay on.

Also seems like you need to loosen the neck screws and give the neck a tug towards the upper horn, before tightening back down, to re-align the strings.

The 3D badge has to come off, otherwise play it and enjoy it (even if it doesn't turn out to be original/authentic)

One of the few burst basses I've seen that I wouldn't mind owning. Keep the bridge but definitely get rid of the Fender case nameplate...looks like something the previous owner did when he was fourteen. If it looks bad underneath, just find a sticker long enough to cover it, maybe something along the lines of "Look but don't touch!" or "Hands off!" and just sand the sticker down a bit or something else to age it.

Man all I've ever found in pawn shops is overpriced junk. I dream of rolling up to a pawn shop or garage sale and finding some well loved battle axe like this.
$1100 is a fair price for that art

Could not agree more, a REAL roadworn beauty here, great find! Don't change a single thing on it, every single scratch, blemish, add on is a part of it's long, storied history, be proud to be the next one adding to it!

Price seems fair. Not overly cheap as some are saying given the bridge, the badge,etc. but fair.

I'm no expert of 70's Fenders, but the neck plate (SN) looks to be in surprisingly good condition compared to the body. That might cause me to take a second look. I'm just mentioning this since pawn shops aren't always known for their integrity.

The neck plate is probably original. It's amazing how some items look new or nearly new on old Fenders. I have '64 and '66 all original P basses. Not as much wear as this one, but older. Neck plate, tuner bases, tops of the vol. and tone knobs and the covers all look great. Look like they've been replaced, but they haven't. Go figure!
