NBD: '00 Ric

Well, today I went and picked up a year 2000 Rickenbacker 4003 Mapleglo on kijiji for $1,200. There doesn't appear to be any nicks or any finish flaws, and it came with its original hardshell case.

Could somebody explain what the controls on it are?
I know that when I push the three tone switch away from me, it's the neck pick up, and when it's in the middle it is humbucking, but when I push it all the way towards me, it just sounds like it losses all of its balls no matter where I pluck?

I can't see pics. So it's hard to say. But a stock 4003 is this:

3-way switch toggle neck, blend, and bridge pickup settings.

Each pickup has its own volume and control. After 2006 the treble tone is also a DPDT switch for a capacitor.

If you plug into the wrong jack (Ric-O-Sound) you won't hear the neck pickup.

switch up is neck pickup, switch in the middle is bridge and neck pickup and switch down is bridge
