NBD (1978 Fender Precision)

I replaced my pickguard with a $20 reissue that tip close to the output jack is so prone to breaking.

Yeah, I'll be doing some updates. The pick guard of course and the pots and wiring are a cluster. I want to clean up the soldering.

Most people would call that one a 78 going by the "S8" neck serial number.. It makes life easier. Nice looking bass.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, since saying "It's an 81 with a 78 neck but no bridge holes so it likely didn't leave the factory until 82 or 83" haha

I would keep anything you replace I replaced the pickguard because I didn't want the original damaged I put it up in one of my closests along with the original pickup and bridge covers. I love these basses the minute you pick one up you know immediately this is what a P bass should feel and sound like.
