After nearly 4 weeks waiting for police hold release, I finally picked up this 80s gem, an RB760 in Vintage White!! Though I was kinda-sorta looking for a MIJ Geddy Jazz (I thought they had one, I was wrong), this thing smacked me in the face and made me do a double-take reminiscent of the King in the first 'Blackadder' series. I picked it up and spent about a good 20-30 minutes demoing it. Regardless of whoever the previous owner was, this bass is near mint condition: no scratchy pots, no corrosion on the hardware, and very little scratching or buckle rash. The headstock shows no "oopsie" bumps/dents inherent on used basses. Ironically, though I prefer a satiny feel as opposed to heavy gloss on necks, the fact that this neck is painted doesn't bother me a bit. I can say this simultaneously scratches both my itches for a Jazz and a Ric!
Pics, pics, pics.
The strings are a bit of a mystery: definitely stainless, and the white/light grey silk are on both ends. I'm thinking Blue Steels; they sound great, but a little dull.
This is cool: the fine red racing stripes within the black binding, which I hadn't noticed before. I like the strap buttons...may not need strap locks, woo-hoo!

Coincidentally, that store is the same spot where I snagged an NOS/floor model Rumble 350 head for $100 last year!
