intonation and saddle height are way off


once I get that down---it should be cake

I'm sure you can make the mahogany look like new again too.

Take the bass apart, then lightly sand the body with fine sandpaper or steel wool.
Sand in the direction of the grain until the body looks more even in color and then rub on the new finish.
