That is precisely how JC from Tool gets some of his wah type effects in some of their songs. Very cool.
OK. Cool, never got a chance to listen to Tool, but it makes sense someone would use that sound color from a Wal. It was a totally useable wah-wah effect, not just a gimmick. Nice!

There is a point of "really, do we need that many strings!" I'd say that point is like 12 strings.
