NBD: 1990 Wal Mk1 (Pic heavy)

Many TB members would tell you to stop at 4. I'm sure that gentleman's a heck of a bass player, but what is that? A harp? I saw Spock play something like it on Star Trek once.
A lot of bass players here have told me to stop at four and a lot of them were very rude about doing so. That's not going to stop me. And yea, you'd have to be good to handle that thing.

Love the bass. Long live all dogs!

It's a volume knob, a blend knob and two "tone" knobs that are low pass filters for each pickup. The volume knob can be pulled out for "pick attack", the tone knobs can as well-there's so many tones and sounds in this thing. I am still wrapping my head around them all!

Plus you have adjustments with the pots as well that is awesome are the pups active or passive?

Gorgeous bass!

I love Wal's -- last time I touched and played one was at Jimmy Coppolo's NY Guitar & Bass Boutique in Manhattan, same floor as Sadowsky's original shop in the late '90's.

Wals are incredible sounding, playing musical instruments. And extremely tough to find!

Regarding 4 strings - I dont think I would tell Anthony Jackson, John Patitucci, and Matthew Garrison "4 strings is all you need." Those cats make a lot of great music on extended range bass guitars.

That said -- good luck with your new bass, and many years of great music with it ahead!

Slap a tort guard on it and it would be perfect!

Seriously, what an absolutely stunning instrument. Even if I could afford one, my skills, or lack of would not do the bass justice.

Congrats!!!!

Edit; you have to share some sound clips with the B7k

I sold that bass to Jimmy; I bought it in Glasgow, Scotland when I was in the Air Force -- I got "stuck" in Scotland for 6 days waiting for diplomatic clearance into Turkey.

IIRC--that bass has a shedua top/back and a mahogany core, and there was a distinctive patch of light-colored sapwood in the otherwise red shedua...
