NBD: 2015 Gibson Thunderbird Vintage Sunburst

Wow, nice score! Considering these started out selling at $2500+, I'd say you got a killer deal. I've been trying to find review videos or sound demos, but there doesn't seem to be much out there for the 2015 model. I'd love to hear how these sound compared to the 2014 and earlier models.

are you in NYC by any chance? I saw a 2015 thunderbird in the times square store for $999.97 but it was a little dinged up. I assumed thats part of the reason for the price even though the tag didnt say "scratch and dent" like I normally see on dinged up new gear. Still even with the dings i was really surprised to see it for that low. I tried to get a price match from music 123 but they werent having it.

Nice snag. Thunderbird shape always reminds me of classic '70's rock. I'm talking true hair farmers with low rider bell-bottoms, and a fringe leather vest. The case should smell like cheap weed, Boone' s Farm Strawberry Hill wine and Lemon Up shampoo. That bass should be playing Bad Company songs from memory. Cool.
OMG - I think I just had a flash back!

Nope. Right now in Bakersfield. Kids here only thrash Ibenez, Yamaha and the like. Us old guys get the Ps, Js and Gibsons pretty much to ourselves. And the expensive ones are up high so we have to ask to play them. I've actually had pretty good luck with this store. Musicians here are pretty respectful. Now some of the stores in LA on the other hand...

Beautiful bass, congrats. I'm jealous. I've loved Thunderbirds since I saw my first bass hero playing one. I was in my teens and he was a local player in the best rock band in town. I'm determined to get one one day when I can afford it.
