Volume, tone, 6 position Varitone and the switch seems to boost sound a bit somehow despite the passive electronicsThat's a lot of knobs and switches for one pickup....what do they do?
Note that your double-P has GOOD pickup positions, the neck is close to standard precision location, the bridge is close to jazz precision location (more or less). In the eagle promotional pic in this thread, the double P has the neck pickup right against the neck and the bridge pickup more in a musicman stingray location. While I think the bridge pickup location might sound cool, I always hated the sound of a neck pickup being too close to the neck.
The double P w the neck pu close to the neck was short lived.Note that your double-P has GOOD pickup positions, the neck is close to standard precision location, the bridge is close to jazz precision location (more or less). Interesting... I like yours better than the promo pick one!
They're comfortable to me, medium C profile, around .85 on the 1st fretMan, I've always loved the eagle basses mainly because of the one Geezer used on heaven and hell. Still remains my most favorite Geezer tone. How's the neck on it? That's the only reason why I'll never own one. BC Rich necks are much too chunky for my hands.
That plywood neck brings back memories of some pretty cheesy basses! What do you guys think about 80's era Japan built BCR basses? Stuff like this: B.C. Rich Mocking Bird 1987 Black Japan | Guitarbank | Reverb
With the Varitone off it has a very bright and punchy sound.Great score! How’s the walnut for tone? In between Koa and Maple?
I have a few 70's Eagles why not another
1978
Walnut, which is very rare, they only made a few before they had neck stability issues
Thankfully this one's rock solid
Simplified electronics package
Almost mint condition even included the original receipt

I mostly use the neck PU on my Eagle. If you can’t make that sound good...With the Varitone off it has a very bright and punchy sound.
You don't even notice the lack of bridge pickup
Series/Parallel...the switch seems to boost sound a bit somehow despite the passive electronics
