NBD '77 Ibanez double neck SG/EB-3 copy

That bass is only about 1,000,000 types of cool in my book...looks like I'll be updating my GAS list to include it....
Looking much better with the Gibby style pups.
This would be a cool project to build. take an EB bass and an SG, make a cut, splice, and tidy up the details.

I was pondering that earlier, only I was thinking of having a body cut and using all the parts from 2 donors.
Ok, the bridge pup is soldered in, but the E and G are weak cause the poles aren't under the strings. Anybody know if I can hook the neck pup to the same wires as the bridge pup? At the same time? I'm on my phone and only have a sec... no time to research? Sorry
I'd hit the "Pickups and Electronics" forum with that wiring question, point them back to this thread as part of the question. Anyway, I don't see why the wiring wouldn't work, you'd just need to figure out if you want them to be permanently series or parallel. I can't think of how to do it just now, I just woke up.

Another idea for the bridge would be to swap the screws to the string holes on the E and G string. Might give you more of the room you need.

Thanks again guys, I'll get my youtube savy young brother-in-law to record some clips once I get it finished. I'll need a guitard too, to really show it off though... I'm pretty crappy w/ the trebley half LOL.
I picked up an SG style 3-way switch at GC earlier, and started a thread in the pup forum to get some advice on wiring everything up.
I think the bridge may arrive tomorrow. I'm still going to somehow make the bridge pup look like a relic'd gold to match the rest of the gold hardware. Any suggestions???

Hipshot bridge arrived today. But, as I feared, it doesn't have the inserts that go into the body that you screw the bridge bolts into. I'll have to figure out another way to mount this bridge.
I think there's a 6/12 that looks like mine (white w/ gold hrdwr) on the 'bay.
The guitarist that started the first band I ever played with (I bought my first bass to play w/ them) played a beautiful Ibanez Les Paul copy. He was the most talented guy I've ever known, and he had me playing songs in a matter of days... and I'd never played an instrument. He met a tragic end unfortunately. And, I still have a sentimental fondness for vintage Ibbys.
