Knowing is half the battlei did not know that.
That's what i noticed; the tuners actually are in line as they should be, the condition over all really looks incredible! At first glance it looked wrong, probably because I can't think of another model like that. Its just an all around sweet pictureThe cat and the fretless... muuaahh or meeoww?
The tuner are a bit wonky but they are firm and stay in tune. When I got the bass, the seller gave it to me without a case or a bag, so I brought it in the back seat of my car. When I got home, the bass was still in tune.
In fact, the tuners are trully in line with the other side, if you notice it.
I'm finally a proud owner of an Ibanez.
I've always wanted to get my hands on a 80's era Ibanez, like the blazers, roadster and musician. A friend of mine has a Musician and it's an amazing bass in looks, feel and sound.
Recently a deal came up to get a 81 Ibanez Roadster Fretless RS-840BK and I couldn't resist it.
It's such an amazing bass and it's in perfect conditions for a 37 years old bass. I love it!

Beautiful Bass!I just wanted to share that I took this baby for a ride yesterday and it performed beautifully.
It was really great to play with it. It sounded great, felt great and looked great!
I love playing fretless because it forces you to play diferently, to be aware of certain subtleties of the sound and be more expressive while playing.

They do look offset, much more than any camera angle could distort. They should be symmetrical. It appears that a set of 4-on-a-side Hercules B machines were installed on the 2+2 headstock. That's awesome! Is it me, or do the treble side tuning keys look wonky?
