NBD: ...and it's an Ibanez!

The cat and the fretless... muuaahh or meeoww?

The tuner are a bit wonky but they are firm and stay in tune. When I got the bass, the seller gave it to me without a case or a bag, so I brought it in the back seat of my car. When I got home, the bass was still in tune.
In fact, the tuners are trully in line with the other side, if you notice it.
That's what i noticed; the tuners actually are in line as they should be, the condition over all really looks incredible! At first glance it looked wrong, probably because I can't think of another model like that. Its just an all around sweet picture:) I love sweet old ibbys, pj's, frettlesses, and cats separately so:thumbsup:

I'm finally a proud owner of an Ibanez.

I've always wanted to get my hands on a 80's era Ibanez, like the blazers, roadster and musician. A friend of mine has a Musician and it's an amazing bass in looks, feel and sound.

Recently a deal came up to get a 81 Ibanez Roadster Fretless RS-840BK and I couldn't resist it.

It's such an amazing bass and it's in perfect conditions for a 37 years old bass. I love it!

Beautiful bass! (And cat.) My RS-940 has become my favourite player since refinishing the fingerboard. But the tuning machines do look off on the one side, as already mentioned looks like a 4-in-line set mounted 2+2.

Looks like the bridge was replaced, too. Don't think I've ever seen an 840 with a gold bridge, they are usually, if not always, chrome.

Come join the club:

The official Ibanez Blazer/Roadstar Club

(Never mind the name, Roadsters welcome, too.)

Dots on the bottom of the neck mirror the side dots, so those with parallax issues will have an easier time finding the right spot on the D and G strings. :)

Oh... and lots of people always say they are DiMarzio pickups, but they are DiMarzio clones, most likely made by Maxon. Every bit as good, though.

I just wanted to share that I took this baby for a ride yesterday and it performed beautifully.
It was really great to play with it. It sounded great, felt great and looked great! ;)
I love playing fretless because it forces you to play diferently, to be aware of certain subtleties of the sound and be more expressive while playing.
