Probably because they would have to secure nicer looking wood for natural and sunburst finishes whereas it doesn't matter what the grain looks like for a solid paint finish.
I think that probably explains why the natural finish is more expensive, but I'm guessing that the 3-color burst is probably a more time-consuming and expensive finish to manufacture.

No, Kipp, you misunderstand. "Sonic Blue" means it sounds blue, it is not a description of the looks.
Of course, not until I get home do I noticed that the bass has a little bit of neck dive! Kind of irritating! Guess I can get a suede strap to remedy the problem. Any other suggestions?
As a kind of ironic solution considering the issue of the first bass, but maybe some new light weight tuners?
round here it wouldve got a heat N tweek job,, a buffin to make the torch coloring "pop" and if the rest of it was A,ok,, id rock it out

Does your model have a recessed output jack? I'm just wondering how you tighten it if it loosens up... no hex nut.

That's often the case. Neck dive is something people usually only witness after visiting talkbass. For most people it's a non-issue.
it is recessed.mines a knurled ring, i had to tighten it with a small pair of needle nose pliers so i didnt scratch the wood.im not a fan of thier choice, it should be a hex nut.
