Inspect it real good, play it, make sure it stays in tune, check the truss rod to see if it turns, if it all checks out and you really like the bass ask for a discount and a new tuner

My tech easily fixed a bent tuner peg. This is fixable. Question is, do you want to keep this bass?

What does the brand have to do with shipping damage?
The bass is being returned this afternoon. I do not trust mysrlf on doing a detailed inspection... if I miss something, I've got to live with it! Hopefully things work out ok this afternoon. Who knows... I may be coming home with an entirely different bass.

I don't disagree, however, I would say that I have not heard a lot of issues of QC from the SBMM line so they do seem to be generally doing well to hold up their end of the agreement in regards to QC. I wouldn't expect EBMM to come down on them about this one particular instrument if it happens to be a one time thing. We don't even know for sure if it is a QC issue. My original comment was that Praxis and EBMM are separate of each other so if someone wants to suggest that a specific QC issue with a SBMM instrument is the fault of some worker at EBMM, it would be incorrect.
I'm looking forward to seeing what happens. Hopefully they have something similar in working order there for you to bring home!
Love my Fender/Squier basses also! I have a 60s (reissue) J and a MIC Squier CV 70s P. Maybe I'll come home with another Fender product. I really like the Paranormal J bass... we shall see.
I like that butterscotch color of the MM, hopefully you can resolve your issue..

do you realize how wrecked the box would have to be to get that kind of damage? I'm willing to bet that came from guitar center like that before it hit the truck.
I don't know about the bass, but that box it came in sure is a keeper!
Returned the bass to GC. Got a refund. Nothing in-store that I liked. Not ordering/shipment again. Looks like I won't be getting a SBMM Stingray. On our way to Sweetwater.

The saga has concluded... bringing home a G&L
Tribute JB-2. It's described as sonic blue but it looks like straight up white to me! Neck felt awesome (satin finish) and the electronics were "lively". Plays fantastic! It came down to this one and a Squier Paranormal. The G&L had a neck more to my liking and I got the impression that the hardware and build quality were superior to the Paranormal. Happy with my purchase
