That reminds me of the people who send vintage electronics like receivers, VCRs, reel to reel decks and high-end 3 head cassette decks by putting them in a box full of styrofoam peanuts without putting the item in a plastic bag first. I can't tell you the countless hours I've spent over the years attempting to clean out styrofoam peanut bits and dust from the insides of electronics sent by completely incompetent unthinking morons. Some of those areas you just can't get such bits out without total disassembly. And the worse part was that I ALWAYS told them to put the stuff in a plastic bag and/or wrap it to keep such a thing from happening. Of course they didn't. They don't care...they have your money. Idiots. Or are they? Lol...

Like this 75' SVT I had to vac it out.
I had issues with it, broken solder joint. It cost me $100 to have it gone through. they stood it on end in the box.

I had a guitar come wrapped in bubble wrap one time, no case, no gig bag.

Miraculously, it was exactly as-described, no nasty surprises. They actually did a damn good job with the bubble wrap.

I always observe the 24 hour rule before unpacking in cold weather, even if it's only wrapped in brown paper. I liked an earlier suggestion to wrap a blanket around it as it acclimates. Anything that can slow that process is a good thing.

I would contact the shipper to put in a damage claim. Your bass was flipped upside down during shipping.
