NBD Capri Orange content

Mighty Mite Licensed neck with decal purchased by me and added during the finishing.
Every player hears stuff differently but to my ears slightly more aggressive when pushed. With a bit more bite. Nice and sensitive to player dynamics. Sounds vintage when I play normally but gets nice and aggressive when I dig in. If as a player you have good playing dynamics, it almost a set it and forget it pickup. Crank volume and tone knobs full on and use your technique to vary the sound. For the 99 bucks they sell these for it's a nice Fender pickup
That pickguard is perfect on that bass. Looks way better than I would have thought.

I tried a brown tort but wasn't happy with the look. This one's much better. Really pops against the Capri Orange. Screams Fender custom color.
Who'd have ever thought an Orange bass would end up so beautiful. I was shocked at how it turned out. I had serious doubts about the Capri Orange but the finished product has shown my doubts were unfounded.

nice lil build there...I love mighty mite necks, i find them pretty good right outta the box with no fret-work needed. Sometimes they're a bit sharp on edges here and there, but great necks!..Cool color, i can see it with a tort guard as well

JeffK, I have that same bass with the same pickguard I put on! Looks like yours is same as mine with the S-circuit? These orange bases always look great I think.
it's definitely a good looking ax, @60bass --- and the extra work on the 'feel' of it is bound to pay off! congratulations on your new instrument!
Cool! Yeah, I THINK mine was a 2004 and had that S-1 (?) switch. People badmouthed that switch a lot, but I found it functional on a Jazz (giving it even more of a P-Bass vibe than just favoring the neck pickup). I DO think it was pretty much worthless on a Precision, but not bad on a Jazz. Our sax player at the time loved that bass. Every so often before a song, he'd say, "Hit your switch for this one!!"
But yeah, that's one of my few "sellers' remorse" basses. I recently tried to contact the guy I sold it to to ask him to give me the right of first refusal if he ever decided to sell it. But he appears to have dropped off the map. (I sold it to him about 14 years ago, so he might or might not still even have it.) Enjoy that baby!

That S1 did the series/parallel thing with the jazz bass giving it that much needed low and low mid bump. That's my favorite modification for any jazz bass. Add a series parallel switch.
