i was gonna swap in some Aguilar DCB pups.

but the new Carvin humbuckers and preamp are NICE!

plus it has the piezo bridge - likin' it.

The Carvin LB75 I had I did try a couple of different pickups, none sounded as good with that bass as the originals.

Good find at the right price. The only bad thing anyone can say about a Carvin without it coming down to a subjective quality (like tone or styling) is that they do not "resell well". You got yours at a price that shouldn't be much of an issue

If I had a Carvin bass that would be it.

Congrats on the new bass. It's a beauty! Carvin really does make some nice basses. They always have, as far as I can tell.

I let a fretless Carvin 6 slip away from me at Spam Ash just a few weeks ago. Thought about it overnight and it was gone the next day. Ooops. I'm not really a six-string guy so it didn't hurt very much.
One of the very, very few "ones that got away" that still bothers me today is a koa fretless LB-50 I saw while on tour in a pawnshop in Philly in the early '90s. It was freakin' incredible. Just an unbelievable neck. I was traveling light and decided I didn't want to have to carry it for the rest of the tour. DUMMY! To this day I don't know what I was thinking.

I have never experienced that noun before, but I'm sure going to hold onto it now!

lol I couldn't believe I wrote that and I had a similar experience tried that Carvin drove home spent the night deciding which bass I was going to sell came back next day and it was gone. I remember the top had a purple tint and it was configured with a jazz and MM style bridge pup I still miss that bass.

Yup, I'm still kicking myself over that Koa LB-50 more than 20 years later. It's jaw-dropness was, well, jaw-dropping.
