NBD - Colour-shifting!

Awesome, thanks for those pics! I have a hot rod bass with prismatic / color change paint. It's a really cool effect! The colors seem similar to yours, maybe not as dark, and not as sparkly. The builder, Benavente, offered a few other color shift options... I think one was yellow to red. But I'm happy with my choice. It starts off as pure blue from a perpendicular viewing angle, then transitions to purple, magenta, and even orange at extreme angles. Here it is with vintage sibling:

Very nice, that is some nice color changing paint too! I've heard good things about Benavente so I'm just that bass must play and sound nice!

I'm happy with the Benaventes. They are pretty basic bolt-ons (of course they are, they are 1951 Fender style), but were very reasonably priced, less than other boutique Fender-style basses. One thing that some may not like: the necks are very thick and chunky.

I loved Music Man basses when I played four string, but learned pretty quickly that I can't adjust to the narrow string spacing on their fivers. That's too bad: tone, build quality, fit and finish are outstanding, especially for the price. Appearance, too: they come up with beautiful and creative finishes. I can still admire others' basses... such as yours.

Just got this bass last night so I didn't have much time to put it down to take some pics. This is a new Stingray Special, I believe it is 1 of 5 made in this colour-shifting finish which looks like a blueish purple to maroon, to a bright orange depending on the viewing angle and lighting. Very cool.

Plays and sounds great and compliments my other SR Specials quite nicely as this one has a rosewood fb compared to my others which have ebony and roasted maple for their fretboards.
