Just got this bass last night so I didn't have much time to put it down to take some pics. This is a new Stingray Special, I believe it is 1 of 5 made in this colour-shifting finish which looks like a blueish purple to maroon, to a bright orange depending on the viewing angle and lighting. Very cool.
Plays and sounds great and compliments my other SR Specials quite nicely as this one has a rosewood fb compared to my others which have ebony and roasted maple for their fretboards.

Sorry about all of the pics, just trying to show the colour-shift is a bit hard.
Here's the whole MM family:

Don't mind the sheets on the couch, just trying to keep my stupid cats from scratching up the fabric.

Wow that color shifting looks neat. Very nice.
I joined the Stingray family only last thursday when this arrived. I took it to rehearsals that same night. Anyway it seems to be Stingray week right now!

Ford did that with the 1996 Mustang Cobra, the color was called "Mystic." Just a bumper scrape would set you back $500 for just a pint of that shade, itself.I remember when a few car companies were using that paint... I believe they called it ChromaLusion. It screamed 1990s and looked like it the car was covered in oil. It never caught on and disappeared.
Love those "color-shifting" basses - congrats!Just got this bass last night so I didn't have much time to put it down to take some pics. All those cool basses in that family pic, and that sparkle one steals the show.
