NBD EBMM Sterling

That color is called "Desert Gold".

I like my EBMM Sterling, just didn't like the company and how it's managed. Reasons are:

1- Pirating software, and then the owner gets all upset that he was being sued. What does he expect? He goes after others that pirate his property. (disclaimer, I've worked as a software engineer for another company, but just as large).

2- Hiring H1B for the IT department including jobs just like Basscliff's. It seems disingenuous to say that EB is unable to hire citizens and/or greencard holders in San Luis Obispo where a Cal State University is located. It's full of students looking for work to pay off their student loans. In fact, the whole country is full of qualified people looking for those jobs.

I stopped buying instruments from EBMM some time ago, and if so, private party on the used market. Waiting for them to be better corporate citizens.

That's dope. One of my future projects is to finish a Warmoth body with a few different colors and a black top layer, that way different colors will start showing through as it ages.

I bought and sold a Sterling about 9 months before EBMM started offering the HS variant, and to mod ones existing bass for pretty cheap ($100 as I recall?). Man, I kick myself sometimes, I loved how that thing played and felt, I just needed that mid pickup booty. One day, it will be mine again :)

Congratulations! I am confident that you will find the sterling to be extremely versatile - don’t be afraid to use that three-way switch! A lot of very usable tones lurk in that control with the preamp. Among the many bases that have come through my collection, my 95 Sterling will never leave!

That is a US made Ernie Ball Music Man Sterling, not the cheaper “Sterling by Music Man” basses. I would take the Sterling over a Ric any day.

I used to have a Desert Gold one just like that, but with a maple board. It was my baby, the first expensive bass I ever bought. I just could never get the sound I wanted out of just the one pickup. If it were an HS or HH I would have never gotten rid of it. I still kick myself for getting rid of it. Really phenomenal basses. Hope you enjoy it!

This is my third sterling and currently the second in my rack. One was sold at one time. Also have a US SUB sterling
