After being on the road I finally got the time to set mine up. I put a set of Prosteels on it. Maybe not the best choice for this particular bass but a vast improvement over the stock strings. The tone is very full !

I've had mine (same cream color with a dark black fretboard) for about 9 monthes. This is the Sweetwater photo of it.
IT's a much better bass than I expected for the $, and i love the sound and playability of it.
Congrats! I also had to replace the strings. (I went with ghs pressurewounds,a great combination.)

I'm doing that next week, essentially it's wiring both pickup into series, it's a built in boost. I did it with my tbird. it takes out the individual volumes and treats both humbuckers as one pickup
Played one of these at a jam session a few months back. The owner got it at GC, it had gotten dented while on the floor so they sold it to him for only $300

Does that mod require VVT instead of blend? Why will you do VVT instead of VBT?
I'm thinking if I do series/parallel, I'll just rewire the whole thing with new pots, maybe a push/pull instead of a switch...
I'll add the diagram later, I did VVT because this worked for Jazz basses and it ended working in the tbird pictured. I like having separate volumes to get that same mid hump when slightly dialed to one pickup or the other, the blend kinda does that. That and I can't find a wiring diagram that had vbt lol

My last night's gig with the Embassy Pro turned out well. We play every kind of music and it covered all the bases. I played with the blend knob in the middle or slightly favoring the neck pickup. This bass has a deep/beefy tone that pushed things along without being muddy. I don't know if it mimics a Thunderbird but it's definitely not a P or a J!

Those look great! The stock tuners work well enough,but i may have to get a set of the Hipshots,they really compliment the vintage look of the bass.
