NBD Fender Aerodyne Score

So I saw this on marketplace this morning for $550 w/Rumble 100 amp
I asked how much for just the Bass and they replied $300 and I pounced
According to the serial # its a 2002-2004 CIJ and its in mint condition
Seller said the pickups were upgraded long ago, didn't remember what kind
Came with SKB hard case, Levys strap w/locks and a really nice cable
And yes I am probably going to flip it

Congrats on the score and flipping it will likely be profitable. Those basses are absolutely awesome and fit just about any style, mine is the most played in the (humble) stable.

No harm in flipping – that's pretty much the essence of both the stock market and real estate industries. But to @C Stone's point, I'd want to enjoy that thang for just a little while. At least long enough to sniff the leather for a few weeks.

I set out to flip basses a while ago...back when I had 2 basses. Flipped a few but kept finding ones I liked and am now up to 9! This was not in the plan!

back on topic, That Aerodyne is *nice*. Curious what pickups are in there when you take a look. How’s it sound and play?

Sweet bass (I have one just like it), sweet price, and that's a expensive strap.

And good move not spending $250 on that amp, also! It can be had for a lot less ...

Nothing wrong with flipping especially since these are in a particular demand these days. I remember when they came out and thought they were a bit of a novelty, but a lightweight Fender easy on the shoulder might be worth even more to you in a few years lol

Flip away! But enjoy it for a bit if you are able to. Almost all of my bass purchases have been funded by flipping. It’s a fun hobby for sure.

look what it did to the price of homes, who in the working class can afford one now? there are other examples and similar factors with instruments but these have stalled in resale value and at this price level I don't see the point unless that few bux is somehow a priority. I get it, and good for you, but in music I'd rather see sweet deals go to someone who's really going to appreciate it and develop the positives. hopefully that will be you.

Play it for a while, the Aerodyne name is well earned, featherweight and a great player. Among my favorite basses of all time. it might grow on you.
