Got my new Fender American Standard Precision in this morning, a Charcoal Frost Metallic with Maple FB from AMS. The wife let me know that it had come in this morning (Hmmm... I should have probably warned her that I bought it and it was being delivered today *) so I ran home at lunch to take a look. After a (altogether too) brief once-over, everything is looking good with it.
It's my first real foray into the 1.65" nut/9.5" radius necks - all my other P basses (past & present) have the 1.75" nut/7.5" radius. It definitely has a different feel on the neck (but that may be the gloss and euphoria involved in the fact that's it's taken me about 25 years since I first started playing to finally get a P-Bass with a maple fretboard - I took a few extended breaks from playing).
I'll have to break out the scale tonight but the bass feels extremely light compared to my 94 MIM P and my Squier VM Jazz. I didn't even get to plug it in as of yet, to hear how everything sounds... 5pm can't come soon enough..
Pics to come later this evening (And crappy cell-phone ones at that, my mom-in-law ganked our camera). But for now, here's a stock photo of the bass..

Now With Real Pics.... (Yet still crappy cell phone pics)
Family Pic (Minus my Dean Edge, which I'm going to be donating to a local school, as per my agreement with my wife..
Holy cow, that just outright looks like a black bass... No, it's really CFM.. I swear
