NBD: Fender American Professional II Precision

Congrats. Nice lookin' bass.
RECOMMENDATION: Before you get too far into P-Bass utopia, get a ziploc bag, put ALL the case candy into it, label it and store it someplace where you'll find it if you ever decide to sell the bass. Wanna add 6-10% to resale? THAT's how you do it.
I keep my case candy in the case. It’s been in there since I bought my American Standard P eight years ago.

Thanks, I keep all the stuff in the case. Sadly… this one had to go back. I didn’t notice on initial inspections that the pick guard is warped at the top and not flush with the body. Didn’t affect playability at all but once I noticed couldn’t help but stare at it. It’s as if the screw holes didn’t line up and someone forced it. I guess it will make a good pick holder for someone… bummed though.

Booooooo! Sorry for to hear that. It’s so deflating when a new bass doesn’t work out.
Another one on the way or did you just return it?

Are you getting a replacement of the same bass?

Getting a replacement, same bass. Hopefully the next is a good one! I’ll let you guys know in a week or so!

Nice! NBD all over again :roflmao:

When I got my Japan P I had it for 15 minutes before I took it to the luthier ‘cause 1) the nut was cracked, 2) the replacement pickguard that was installed didn’t allow the pickups to adjust, and 3) one of the screws mounting the tuning machine for the D had broken off in the headstock (HOW?!).
Seller was great, though, and refunded me $90 to cover a bone nut.

Same here never taken out of the plastic bags it came in even, bought another Fender strap to use so the one that came with the bass is still unused.
The Fender strap was too narrow for me anyway, so leaving it in the case was a no-brainer. The only thing I took out besides the bass itself was the truss rod key. Not that it matters much - I’m never selling the bass anyway. :)
