Got this in a trade and just brought it home. This is the new one with upgraded everything. Sweet player, thunderous sound. Straight neck, low action, excellent B. Could be a keeper!

There's a lot of new-for-2017 features: new bridge, tuners, pickups, tall-narrow frets, bone nut, etc. Or maybe they didn't change anything and it's all marketing.
Either way, this bass kills.

Beautiful bass! I was quite happy with my own Am Pro series surf green Telecaster with all rosewood neck. Fender hit it out of the park with this series I think. Been jonesing for a Fender Roscoe Beck V, but would take this as a consolation prize for sure
/have since sold my Tele to get back my 94 Tele Plus blueburst.
//picked up a Peavey fiver to hold me over.

It's great! Nice and tight with good definition. Stringing through the body helps.

So Fender's virtual builder doesn't have Sonic Gray yet! Boo. Wanted to see how it would look with different pickguards.
I used the Halo Guitars online builder, couldn't figure out how to save the pics but tort looks pretty awesome with gray/maple.

Yeah, this is the new series that replaced the American Standards. I've only had it for 27 hours. But already plotting a tort or black pickguard.
