Nice, didnt know they where offering those in anything other then white. Looks like a good 70's sunburst type finish on that one too.

To be honest I've played one of these, have gigged a classic 60's, Classic 50's P, and they are really top shelf.

The 70's only comes in Black and Sunburst these days, the 60's is offered in White, Black and Sunburst. And I have been GASing for the 70's in Sunburst for a while now... I feel like I NEED it.
Beautiful. If it only came with an ash body, I'd be booking flights to NY at the moment. (I recently noticed that flights to NY can be cheaper than shipping.)
I've had mine for 3 months now, got it for $600 new at GC (I got friends there). I love this bass way more than my 2008 Fender MIA Jazz. I hope for 2010 Fender doesn't do anything stupid & raise the price or change anything on the bass (other than color choice). I droped a pair of Dimarzio model J's in & it sounds great. I wanted to be able to compensate for the 7.25 neck radius & the adjustable poles work great. Only thing I didn't like was the fact that the control cavity was not shielded & when I took off the control plate & pickguard there was alot of wood debris between the plate, pickguard & body. Even more debris was piled up in the control cavity & two of the control plate screws had striped the wood when whoever screwed them in. Other than that shes a goddess.
The Classic 70s Jazz and the Classic 50's Precision are fantastic basses for the money and on par, quality wise, with anything coming from the USA factory. I've played many examples of both basses and have yet to play a dud.
Congrats on the sweet MIM 70s Jazz. I prefer the 3TSB to the black on those as well.

The Classic line is an excellent bang for the buckeven more so
when you buy used. I like them because they've got nice styling
and sound, and since they don't break the bank (and likely won't
go up in value later), you can mod them as much as you like
with no worries.
I'm shopping right now for an Oly White Classic 60s Jazz to create
a fretless project. They're a great foundation to start from.

I have a CIJ '75 reissue, CAR with matching headstock, with the only mod being a Badass II bridge. This bass is a MONSTER. I've played the MIM 70's reissue, and it's a great bass for the money as well.

Not in the least! This is the best combination I've had. MM/J is a great combo
